Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

1. All calls for assistance are free of charge and include 30 minutes labour at the roadside. Additional labour will be charged at
the discretion of Isle of Man Motoring Club or their Agent.
2. Isle of Man Motoring Club or their Agent will attempt to repair your vehicle at the roadside. Failure to do so will result in
recovery of the vehicle to a location of your choice. For UK breakdowns, if the repair cannot be undertaken within a
reasonable period of time (usually 60 minutes), the vehicle will be recovered to the nearest repairer. All garage labour and
parts will be the responsibility of the Member. Due to the time scale of your return journey to the Isle of Man, if a repair can not
be obtained locally then recovery to either Heysham or Liverpool Port will be carried out. Onward transportation will be
undertaken on the Isle of Man to a location of your choice.
3. Recovery must be arranged at the time of the breakdown. Requests for second recoveries will be considered on merit and a
charge may be levied. The use of our recovery services may not be used as a means to avoid repair costs.
4. At home service is not valid for vehicle servicing or reassembly.
5. Membership is valid for 1 year from date of subscription and is payable annually in advance. If your Membership has expired
by more than seven days and you wish to renew a surcharge for breakdown assistance or recovery may be levied. This does
not apply to UK expired memberships.
6. Membership is for the vehicle(s) detailed. Personal cover and cover for trailers and caravans may be available upon request
and if provided would only apply to Isle of Man cover.

8. Membership is available to Isle of Man residents only.
9. Vehicle weight is limited to 3500kg by trailer recovery and 3.5 tons flat tow.
10. Members who change their vehicle and receive complementary breakdown cover and membership from other sources, or who
wish to cancel their membership for other reasons will only be entitled to a refund of their membership fees for whole months
on a pro rate basis if such a change occurs within the first three months of their membership. Such a refund will not apply if
they have used any of our breakdown services during this period. Members who wish to add vehicles to their membership will
be charged a fee of £12 if such a change occurs within the last three months of their current annual membership.
11. A puncture with no spare will not normally be covered in the UK. Motorcycles and vehicles manufactured without a spare are
exempt. A tyre company will be directed at member’s cost.

guide dogs for the blind or hearing dogs will always be transported with their owners but are also not covered by insurance
during transportation. Excepting extreme circumstances all other domestic animals must travel in the stricken vehicle and not
in the agent’s recovery vehicle.
16. Accident recovery, fire, theft, acts of vandalism or other incidents normally covered by a motor insurance policy will be
invoiced to your insurance company; third party Insurance recovery will be free of charge on the Isle of Man only.

incurred if the vehicle is not on a tarmacked road and the Member may be responsible for any specialist charges incurred
should the vehicle be beached, stuck in mud or ditched or under ground or normal car park.
